Code of Conduct for Students

Thakurani Chak Union High School, established in 1938, has a proud and glorious history of more than 80 years. To uphold its long-standing tradition, discipline, and reputation, it is essential for all students to maintain proper behavior and follow the rules of the institution.

• “Respect begets respect” — students must behave politely and respectfully both inside and outside the school. Respect towards teachers and elders is essential.

• Students must attend school in the prescribed uniform and must carry their identity (ID) card at all times.

• Students must be punctual and attend school and the daily prayer assembly on time. They must remain present in the assembly for 10–15 minutes and maintain
silence and discipline.

• After the prayer, students should enter classrooms in a line, sit properly, and pay attention to lessons, taking notes when necessary.

• At the beginning of the academic year, class monitors and assistant monitors will be appointed. All students must cooperate with them.

• Students must keep their classrooms and verandas clean and tidy at all times. No one should create any kind of mess inside or outside the classroom.

• After school starts, students must remain in their classrooms unless there is an urgent need. Discipline must be maintained in the library, laboratory, and playground.

• Leaving the school premises without permission from the Assistant Headmaster will be treated as an offense.

• Discipline must be maintained during all school functions and sports competitions. Students must behave properly during celebrations.

• Students must not take others’ belongings without permission. Any found item must be submitted honestly to the school office.

• In the absence of a teacher, if any student breaks discipline, the class monitor must report it to the Assistant Headmaster or another teacher.

• Students must take proper care of school property. Wasting water or damaging taps, switchboards, or furniture is a punishable offense.

• If a student falls ill after coming to school, they must inform the teacher or the Assistant Headmaster immediately.

Academic Rules and Instructions

Throughout the academic year:

• Classes V–IX: Three Summative exams and one Test exam

• Class X: Two Summative exams

• Promotion to the next class will be based on the total marks obtained.

• From 2026, two MCQ-based class tests will be taken in each class. Students must remain prepared for all examinations.

• Answer scripts of the first two terminal examinations must be signed by guardians and submitted to the school.

• If a student is unable to attend an examination, they must inform the Assistant Headmaster with a valid reason and submit an application.

• Parent-Teacher Meetings will be held twice a year for each class/section.

• Any kind of unfair means (cheating) in examinations is strictly prohibited. Students involved will not be promoted. Assisting others in cheating is also punishable.

• During examinations, students should not leave the classroom unnecessarily and must submit their answer scripts on time.

• To be promoted, students must obtain at least 25% marks in each subject and maintain a minimum of 70% attendance.

• Eating tiffin inside the classroom is not allowed. Classrooms must be kept clean and tidy at all times.

• Bringing valuable items such as watches, jewelry, cameras, tape recorders, mobile phones, or non-academic materials is a punishable offense.

• Students must be aware of moral values and cultural discipline.

• After school, students must leave the campus peacefully and in an orderly manner.

• Maintaining cleanliness of the school environment is the moral duty of every student.

• Students must maintain punctuality and regularity in attendance and in the submission of school work.

• Students should reflect discipline in their studies, behavior, and overall conduct, upholding the reputation of this historic institution.
